Australian nationality law determines who is and who is not an Australian citizen. The legal status of Australian nationality or Australian citizenship was created by the Nationality and Citizenship Act 1948which came into force on 26 January 1949. To Process and get Australian Citizenship, applicant should be eligible as a conferral or Descent.

Eligibility by Conferral

To be eligible for Australian Citizenship by Conferral, you must meet the following criteria.

  • - Australian permanent resident and New Zealand Citizens are eligible under Conferral.
  • - An applicant must have intentions to live in Australia or have a lasting link with whilst overseas list of Australia.
  • - Must obey every law of Australia and know every detail about the country.
  • - An applicant has to be between 18 to 59 years old.
  • - It is important to clear the citizenship test.
  • - Must meet the residence and character requirement.

Eligibility by Descent

  • - If applicant born outside the country.
  • - An applicant need to sure that, you must claim descent from was your parent or an Australian citizen at the time of your birth.
  • - Must meet residence and character requirement.
